Sockets are an addition to the attributes on the item.
It isnt required and is an additive to increase your overall power (will be minor for gems)
While we don't want be a "WoW" clone - we will borrow some aspects and change up the names to make it our own. It will not be a direct copy.
The gem/socket system is already in planning, I have 1-2 pages of documentation on how it should interact and be used on Herocraft.
Instead of having "one" class that handles everything, I would much rather share the load on 2-4 professions so that their is more of a community feel to crafting.
