Zombies invincible in lava

I noticed with zombies that once they fall into lava, they take lava damage, but do not die. If you try to hit them, they do not take damage either. After removing lava, you can hit them, but once they land back in lava, the same effects happen.

Ive noticed this aswell,
but i thought it was just to stop farming and such ?

This has to do with some damage issues in Bukkit, we'll take a lok at it

Just tested this, and its affirmative, cant be damaged in Lava
