Your story:
I have discovered last night that Canterlot has mysteriously lost their region. As far as I am aware this means that my town and wild home now had both seniority and scope over an abandoned structure. It also meant that Canterlot was subject to deletion via Admins. I pm'd brutal asking if I could claim it he said yeah, sure. I wasn't thinking about the 1-2 week waiting period because it's not really laid out in the rules real well what happens to a town after they lose regions.
I assumed that since it was visible and so close to my town (my border was touching theres, and when they expanded it went 25 blocks into theirs.) that I would not have to wait to begin deconstruction so I have room to build a bigger wild home, fix the griefing they did to my wilderness home, and get rid of the ugly pixel art (which is illegal) from the face of the town, that's completely visible from mine. I failed. Later, I realized that CT did not lose their regions and was about to be deleted, I found out that they MOVED their regions.
It is to the best of my knowledge that towns are (in the exception) allowed to move their region, only if they first destroy their current town and make it look like natural terrain. (as per Xanipher.) This is an area of the rules that's not been expanded upon very well but could be an issue when it comes into how you can claim an abandoned structure. At the time, I remember thinking that if they moved their region then whatever is left should be fair game, the town would've been abandoned and since it no longer had regions this would mean that no one owned it. Also, no one had come back to put any signs claiming it's ownership.
Therefore, I thought I was capable of instantly claiming it due to its extreme proximity to both my wilderness home, town, and its actual location interferes with pylon placement for my kingdom. Later brutal realized that I had not waited the 1-2 week time period before laying a solid claim on it, but I was unsure as to if this even applied to abandoned structures (It cannot be considered a wilderness home since it was never that to begin with, they left and moved their region, and the mayor has told us he was on a 1 month hiatus.)
I realized later that I should've had all of my bases covered before I began deconstruction, however, I was extremely trigger happy to help remove them from the vicinity they were previously at. I would also like to say that if Xanipher's rules towards how and when you move your town are true, then they illegally moved their regions and that would null any damages we rendered since we would've been doing them a favor anyway.
I feel that my ban was somewhat fair and unfair due to these conflicting information and confusion. I would like to know what a "1 week loophole suspension" means, is this a 1 week ban? This is my 1st offense isn't it? Shouldn't this have been a warning or a 1 day suspension? Also, I would like to know if I will automatically have my ban lifted in 1 week, or by your ruling, any shorter amount of time.
Thank you for reading my ban appeal and sorry for breaking any rules you have set forth for the server. Again, I feel as if this specific situation provided extended circumstances that made it unclear to see how the rules would've applied. It was also to the best of my knowledge that anything within view distance of your town was basically yours to maintain. (no one wants a garbage dump beside their home or city, they're unsightly and the smell is just downright horrendous!)
