Why Am I So Laggy On This Server But Completely Fine on others? (Including American Servers)

I know I might not have the best connection, because I'm from Australia, but I really need to know whats wrong here. I love the looks of this server so far and I would really like to donate. But with the massive amount of lag I am receiving in-game it just makes me not want to play at all, because it is that laggy. On all other american servers my connection is fine and I have no problem with lag at all, but on here. wow. Said that before so noone can give me that thing "Oh it's your connection dude". And no. It's not.

I posted this here because I didn't see any "public questions" topic or anything like that.

Thankyou,

Well I am from Australia too and I can tell you that my connection is fine when playing Herocraft especially around this time when it isn't peaking (only 42 players I can see online atm). As for peak time, it's about 50ms - 100ms on my connection and over at times but that's still manageable.

It seems even with a wired connection it still does not fix the problem. I really wanted to play here badly, but sadly, It looks like I wont be. :(

There is a good chance your internet might just be having a bad day. Keep trying man. Its a great server.

A few other Aussy Herocrafters were also having lag issues earlier. It might just be a bad day for your Internet.

My ping randomly changes. It's odd. Sometimes my ping will be 75-100ms with around 150-200 people on. But refreshing every couple minutes or so, my connection weakens and I end up at something like 400-450ms. I live in New York, and my internet is generally pretty good. Just a shitty computer

Ok, so it seems I am getting : Connection lost from 3pm to late night on Herocraft only, which is very strange. I'm not sure if this is only the server host or something else. Someone help?
Thanks,
Beast

Sounds like the problem is peak activity on Herocraft. Because of all of the memory intensive mods on HC, it naturally causes morel lag, especially during peak hours. When coupled with anything less then a top-of-the-line internet connection and PC, the lag can be even worse. Somethings you can try:

-Restart your router (unplug, wait for 30s, & turn on again - Some routers slow down if left on for long periods of time and can be fixed by a simple restart)

-Allot more RAM to minecraft (google how to)

-Lower graphics on Minecraft to free up some processing power

-use optifine to further lower graphics demand on you computer

Agentjwall, I have already done all of that before and I am always running optifine, but it seems I am getting the message sometimes: Read timed out - Connection Lost, but the weird thing is that this doesnt happen on any other servers X_x, still needing a solution apart from moving to america and buying new internet X_x

ALSO:
The lag only starts after 3pm in the afternoon until late night, and from the morning - 3pm, there is no lag.
Weird eh?
and also, in the morning when there are no matter how many people there are online (usually maxed out at 200) there is no lag, until after 3pm.

prime time for your area will lower your latency because of so many ppl on the interwebz using up your ISPs capabilities. since its affecting you so greatly, im assuming your d/u is fairly low?

i know you said its not your connection, but you never know, some weird stuff goes on without anyone knowing about it :D

Is it exactly at 3pm?
If so it sounds like your ISP is throttling your connection

MC PING DOES NOT MEAN ACTUAL PING! :)

In short: you may experience high lag because
1) Gateways are down
2) internet brownouts
3) something else that we can't account for.

I hope to offer the same service to everyone, everywhere, it just always isnt possible.

We're looking at piggy backing on a larger backbone for the net and it should relieve any international traffic and decrease ping times, but that wont be any time 'soon'
