Where are all the Wolves?

I have been looking for hours for a wolf to tame. As a ranger I though it would be cool to try my ability to tame one but after 5 hours of looking in 3 forest biomes and 2 Taiga biomes I still havent been able to find one. I wish I could just spawn one instead... Any suggestions? are they worth having? Does anyone breed them on the server?

Check those really large pine forests, they can spawn naturaly there sometimes.

Well, from personal experience on bastion, wolves aren't worth it, because they get killed too fast and can be killed in non-pvp areas.
