What is working with Cauldrons?

Having just gotten level ten alchemist, I decided to try out cauldrons since Kain was talking about them earlier. So far I successfully made some ice but when I went to try to make some slime balls and chainmail it didn't work. Could I get a list of what is working with cauldrons atm since the wiki is a bit out of date. Also, how fast smelting work? The wiki is extremely confusing on the topic and really needs to be fixed up. Thanks in advance!
