I don't think it could be done on servers anyway. It could be tried on a smaller scale, but it might not work to the same effect.

Must have been done on a larger scale then. I remember Brutal telling me when everyone logged into a new map for HC (I think it was Zeal), and on arrival they all spawned on the same block. This created an instant ''explosion'' of people (plus there was no limit to the number of players! ). He also told me you could teleport somewhere, log off, get a sandwich, go to the loo, come back, then only THEN would you be teleported (so much lag I guess).

Ha I remember the launch of an expansion on zeal. So many people got on to get their hands on birch saplings and lapis that the lag was absolutely insane.

I believe Kain wound up having to shut down the server and lower the player cap
