I beg to differ on the whole "Canada will never be beaten". =) So even based on that, from the time Canada entered they have not won every gold medal.
Consider this, the USA has 10x more people than Canada, yet around 50% of NHL players are from Canada. The LA kings have 8 canadian players. As well, for a long time the NHL did not allow their players to go into the olympics at all. The most stanley cups ever were won by a canadian team, as well as the second most. Wayne Gretzky was canadian. Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux, all canadian, and the list goes on. Canada has won the cup 49 times in comparison to the US's 42, even with a much larger talent pool/population in the US and 24 teams as opposed to canada's six. @PewPewPewLasers @Haxnn
Canada is known for their hockey, we perform very well in the game. You can't say we never lose, however you have to admit we are one of the top competitors.
EDIT: Someone ALWAYS posts while I`m posting :/.
Yes, I highly agree with this post yes they are and will be always one of the 'top dogs' of the Olympics though you also have to give some credit too the Us, considering Tim Thomas is from Michigan and is arguably the best goalie in the last 5 years.[DOUBLEPOST=1346354712,1346354546][/DOUBLEPOST]Canada is known for their hockey, we perform very well in the game. Okay, you have me on this one though as stated before there are some US greats, including Tim Thomas, Brian Leetch, etc. I do agree at the moment Canada is better but hey don't doubt the us!Consider this, the USA has 10x more people than Canada, yet around 50% of NHL players are from Canada. But canada's got more of them (in the NHL atleast)Canada, Europe, US, Russia all have good players but a few people don't make up a whole team.
Don't compare Quebec to the rest of Canada. Atm they are trying to leave Canada and become their own country.
I believe Canada wins this discussion because we made TIM HORTONS!
