I had an idea, wanted to let the Hero Devs get a shot at it.

With this, it would be possible to make traps targeting specific towns, to open gates for your Guild/town members and so on.

I don't really understand, do you meen that everyone should have access to add themselves to every permission file?
OR do you mean this would be an admin tool?

No, you can have permission for only the Mayor/guild leader.
Limited to his guild or town.

And use the same type of coding as in Falsbook ICs or Chest Shop.

The idea is to have the names on the board automatically updated to the permissions.

As an example, Falsebook is using groups for detection ICs.
This way It would be easy to update the members in a town and use them as a group.

I've always been curious about the groups for detection IC's, it would be nice to be able to make traps specific to non-townies. I've killed far too many Rifteners with my traps.

While a great idea, I also think it would be very OP. All it would take is one engineer for, if set up right, complete security for the town.

well, it will not give you more security then a dirt block, as it is now ;-)
