Why doesnt the power Telekinesis work with Pressure plates? It would be a great addition, plus the plates are player-interactive

Telekinesis w/ Pressure Plates

It is because telekinesis works (I think) by extending your hit range to buttons and levers, as with these you have to click them,while with pressure plates,you actually have to stand on them.
