Bug Sub regions

When I make a subregion people who aren't on that subregions are still able to build. Also if you do /region info (subregion), old subregions says they are no regions with that name. This should be fixed fast since the rule change.
@Kainzo

Edit: Unless I'm doing something wrong, but when I had r1n test it he wasnt ont eh subregion but was still able to break blocks

Edit2: Setting priority numbers doesn't change anything. People who are on the parent region, but not on the subregion can still break blocks on the subregion

@TheYeti - any thoughts on this? the sub-region stuff can be a bit odd... and I think the logic may be off.

Hey guys -

Xani & I just went through this with UnderWorld - it was because everything was flagged "build true" and she said I just needed to flag the subregions "build deny" which worked for us

hope this helps!

The parent region should be BUILD-FALSE - I think.

I believe so kainzo. But seems like some towns were set up wrong initially. .

But if I put build deny on a subregion...As the owner... Cannot build in there either and I don't know the proper commands to offset it.

@Kainzo this is also a problem

Old subregions like this no longer says they aren't regions, but when you use coal it says they are.

I was also getting these errors - I even reclaimed my town to fix it but Xani had to manually delete those Sub-regions for me as I couldn't access them or delete them or do anything with them. Once Xani deleted them, I seemed to be fine except for the build perms on the subregions of the town which I still am not sure how to handle ... can we handle them the same as personal regions?

This is how regions work everyone who had access to the parent region will always have access to the child regions. How you get around this is you create a subregion the same shape as the main town region and add people to this instead of adding everyone to the main town region. That way further sub-regions are not children of the region everyone is added too.

That's if you want them to break and grief everything that isn't a child region of that sub-region. What works better is just setting town perms for 0 and sub-regions for 5 (or any number higher than 0) and giving people guest perms to sub-regions ONLY, such as housing plots or airlocks. I mean, if you trust everyone in town, you could go with the sub-region the size as the town, but I wouldn't. And even with the ability to make a sub-region with 32 points, I could never quite get it within the boundaries of the actual protection, and found it both tedious and frustrating.

/region select [townname]
^ that'll create a world edit selection the exact shape of the town region.

you guys have permission for that

Also griefing is an easy fix and is still illegal whether they're doing it in a town or not.
As long as they're not thieving from chests or other containers it's an easy fix that we will likely step in and fix.

But again if you read the OP he is clearly adding people to the main town region and wants them not to have access to the sub regions. Hence why I made my suggestion.

Hey @Danda Is there a way to select the entire region horizontally but then make sub regions by floors. ..say 10 blocks high or similar?

I guess you could select the region then contract it up/down to the size you want. But I'm not certain if you have perms for that.

The command would be //contract [Number of Blocks] [up/down]

For all those who would like to know.
  1. Make copy of original region (EX. VolantisCopy)
  2. Move all guests from the original region to the copied region
  3. Set priority of the copied region as 1, make sure the original region is set as 0( /region setpriority VolantisCopy 1 )
    • This will cause people to access the copied region
  4. If you want other subregions set the empty original region as the parent( /town region create House01 Volantis )
  5. Set the new subregion as priority 2
    • This will cause the owner of the house to be able to access it.
  6. Add the wanted people to the new subregion
