Bug Spell Warmup Stamina Reduction Bug

Couple of glitches with the new stamina reduction on spell warm up, I am not sure what is intended but I am guessing that some of the stuff listed is not intentional and needs an immediate fix.

  • Upon casting spell with warmup, stamina is dropped to 0 then immediately up to full. (cancels sprint so guessing this is intentional)
  • Roots you in place for the duration of the warmup (not sure if intentional, but if so is a massive nerf to classes with warmups)
  • Makes you immune to knock back while casting warmup (guessing not intentional, because left click classes can drop large number of hits dropping your health too quickly to be considered balanced.)
  • @michael42 reported root was not working on him (as cleric) guessing this has something to do with my ping. (inconsistent, so not intentional)
  • On random occasion, you are launched 20-30 blocks into the air when casting a spell with warmup. (100% bug, also michael reported that this did not happen to him, guessing my Australian connection is messing things up.) I lost 7 hearts from full health and ended up dying to a player due to this bug - it is very bad for pvp. Happens randomly (was only able to recreate on chance)
Overall, regardless of what is intentional and what is not, this is to much of a nerf to all classes, lore is neat and it *might* be cool to disallow movement when casting due to realism, but realistically balance is more important and this is going to put the strong classes (paladins and dk's) in an even better spot, and punish some of the weaker classes (casters). It is also very frustrating with bugs, and is not fun to play.

These bugs need attention, and clarification of what is intended and what is not.

I'm not playing but that new stamina put to 0 would kill wizards and many more classes... Seems unneeded you already had a slow put on you having warmups

The issue with negative jump boost flinging characters int he air will be resolved.

I've reverted this change until more testing can be done.

just a suggestion but rather than making the casting system intrinsicly punishing, maybe give squishy melee classes some more anti kite tools like ranged short duration snares or some such so they have more of a function in group fights. These could work to both catch kiters and to peel pursuers off casters on your own team

Specifically thinking of runeblade, pyromancer, ninja, maybe missing a class or two but those three come to mind as classes decent in 1v1 but totally useless in large group fights relatively speaking (IMO)

plz help ninja and runeblade, they are both very fun but both suck in any kind of teamfight pretty much

What about the root effect on cast Kain? That combined with the no Knockback really hurts classes with warmups.
