go to /router in your browser (just type /router in your address bar) to access your router internally. Go to firewall settings, and forward whatever port your server is running on TO the same port number. In essence, you're forwarding the outside port with the inside port so that they connect to each other. After that, if you have another modem through your ISP, you have to know its IP (google multiple router scanner and download/run it and it will tell you the ip of the second router) and put that ip into your address bar like you did /router, and DISABLE DMZ. it will have an option somewhere in there depending on your router brand. that should allow all users inside or outside of your LAN to connect to it successfully. Make sure also you have enough memory and internet bandwidth to allow it.

Ok I got into my router, but i dont see any firewall settings. do u mean on my router the settings, or on my computer in general?

you'll have to google how you port forward with your type of router, but there should be firewall settings somewhere in that router. but you don't have to change the settings on the computer, just the router.

You could just get all your friends to download hamachii,
however hamchii servers end in most cases up being very laggy..

Hello, I needed some help on a bukkit server I'm trying to host and didn't feel like making a whole new thread. Alright heres what's wrong.
I can get the server running on bukkit 1.6.4 but when I try to login in says failed to authenticate username or something similar.
So that's my first problem. Secondly I want ot host on 1.7.4 but when I try I get this long error message and I have no idea what's wrong.
Plz help!

Honestly, there's better areas to look for help than Herocraft on running a small server - I suggest googling/bukkit.
