Just thought I'd make it known; don't have much info on it, but I can say that usually when there are six or more players in the skirmish, the game likes to throw four (or five or six?) people on one team while leaving two on the other. This doesn't happen EVERY time, but it happens more often than not. It NEVER happens in a 4 player match.
My current hypothesis is that skrimish doesn't recognize when you're partied with two other players beforehand, so when you get matched up, the skirmish tries to throw your two friends on the other team while giving you two or so people to join your party. Since it can't kick your two friends who are already in the party, shit gets messed up, and you ultimately wind up with a 6 v 2, or something along those lines.
I'll try to update this with any more information I can find.
