Bug Skin Bug

So my skin shows perfectly fine when I am not in a party on Herocraft, but when I join a party all the members of this party see me as "Steve".

Does anyone else get this bug? And does anyone know how to prevent it?

I believe it's caused by nameplates only being able to have a certain number of characters, people with long names have it shortened because the color codes. For example: Your name is RoflcerOfDaLawl, but when you enter a party your nameplate becomes green. So it takes up one or two characters before you name, and removes one or two letters at the end of your name to put the color code like: &aRoflcerofDaLa(RoflcerofDaLa) but since vanilla minecraft doesn't recognize that name, or that name is not an existing account. It automatically puts your skin as the default. Sadly this can't really be avoided, I hope this explained why it happens.
