Taking most of my information from the Wiki here.

1) Mark/Recall
Every class gets Mark and Recall- Base PvP classes and Crafter at level 10 (Rogue at 20), and specializations at level 1.
Could this be altered? Maybe removing it from PvP classes altogether, with Crafter getting it at 10 and specs at 1. Or maybe Crafter gets it at 1 and base classes at 20? It just feels messy to me at the moment.

2) Growth Patterns
This is something that could perhaps have some potential. Having different growth patterns to our classes could add some extra character to them. Currently almost all classes earn skills in increments of 5 or 10 (excepting, of course, the fruity bards). Just to make it feel like it's 55 levels instead of 20 with skills sandwiched in when there's too many. This is a gripe I have with mana as well, although we're already moving away from that with spellcasters. Examples:

Steady rate- 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 55
Chunky- 2 or 3 close to each other with gaps between. 1, 8, 10, 19, 22, 30, 31, 55
Basics first- A few important skills early, with more advanced skills near the end. 1, 4, 7, 11, 17, 33, 39, 44, 48, 55
Payoff- Skills sparse early on, with a cluster of powerful skills near the end. 1, 10, 25, 40, 48, 51, 53, 55
Missing ingredient- Most skills available early, with a couple of very important/powerful ones saved for the end. 6, 10, 13, 18, 22, 25, 29, 49, 51, 55

I think steady for base paths is alright. This probably would not be high-priority due to time restraints, but I would love to see it sometime.

I think you're right about mark/recall - we can probably remove that from Combat classes altogether.
