Sharpness swords have a 50% chance to do an extra damage, per level. Meaning you'd be lucky for it to do 10 extra damage over the entire course of a battle. So really this is just a collectors item, and doesn't really carry extra functionality with it.

I don't think a GOLD sword is worth 1.2k, even if it is sharpness II.

Does no one understand the fact it is a collector's item? Digger was right, it is ineffective and would be a waste to use, but it would be very cool to flash around and brag about.
Stop making offers based on how useful you think it is and make offers on how cool it would be to be the only one to have it.
