Bug Server Resource/Texture Pack Problems?

Hello, I am fairly new to this server, but not to the game. I joined yesterday and was immediately asked if I wanted to "Automagically" install the custom server texture pack, so I did, and it turns on. I went through the portal to go to Tutorial Isle and found that my skin had been changed to some kind of Chris-Angel-lookin' skin and I REALLY do not like it. I really enjoy the server so far and so I invited a friend to join in with me, but he said that I looked like the default Steve skin, so I really don't know what I have done wrong... I have tried re-joining, re-downloading, etc. with the server and texture pack...but I can't seem to fix the problem. I'm playing from the Technic Launcher if that helps at all, I have plenty of RAM, so idk what's going on.

If your skin changes to something different that means that either Mojang failed to process your skin or something else happened.

the "STEVE" skin is different on Conquest textures - this shouldnt happen all the time, so just try relogging.
