Before committing to this path, I checked the wiki for the ranger's bow damage, but it is listed as ???, whereas the bow damage for other rogue classes are specified. Is the bow damage being tested and tweaked at the moment?

Wellllll.... just not really sure how to describe bow damage, is the thing . I'm thinking like using terms like "lots" and "a fair amount" etc. :p

I'll gather some info and put it in my next post.

So, if I put in the damage figures for bows in the same way as for other weapons, this is how they would look:

Ninja: (8 + 0.3125/level) meaning 8 at level 1 and 28 at level 65
Bard: (8 + 0.425/level) meaning 8 at level 1 and 35.2 at level 65
Ranger: (12 + 0.4/level) meaning 12 at level 1 and 37.6 at level 65

However, the damage you do with a projectile is greater than just these figures. How much greater... is unclear...

On top of this, projectile damage varies with pull-back, and on top of that you have Ranger which has BowStrength as well to further increase its projectile damage. In fact, bow damage from a fully drawn back bow used by a maxed level Ranger is likely around ... 180 or so?

So if you just look at the figures themselves, it makes bows appear under-powered compared to the damage they actually do.

Thus, I'm looking for a better way to indicate bow damage for these three classes.

Suggestions anyone? Anyone interested in testing out bow damage for Ranger, Ninja and Bard and discussing the results?

@Delfofthebla please correct my explanation where needed :D.

That and it increases a lot with agility right?

True. And the scaling for that is an additional 0.185 per agility point.

(The damage stats given in the wiki are baseline, pre-Attribute effects. We probably need links on the class pages with a reminder that Attributes provide overall effects as well as individual skill effects.)

Still looking for Rangers, Ninja, Bards who might be interested in testing bow damage as you level - this would be really helpful, thanks!

I'm actually glad I read this. I was going to be a dragoon but am now definitely set on choosing Ranger. The fact that you can do 180 damage per arrow at level 65 is awesome.

All that has been said about bow/arrow damage is true. The thing that everyone is missing is that the damage show is the "base" value. A fully drawn bow deals roughly 4.5 times the base value and a chance to do 5 times.)

Ranger bow damage is OP especially with any punch bow, that skills for the class really aren't even needed
