Pyromancer Issues/solutions

Hello Herocraft community!

Before you dislike/disagree I just want you to know a few things:

1) I know I am not qualified to talk about balance and the class, Pyromancer as I have only just started playing it.

2) Please do not take this as a indication that I am interested/want to join the balance team, as that is not my aim, balance team seems to much work for a lazy sod like me to do.




Now to the points;

- After recently switching to Pyromancer I noticed one thing, it is very very underplayed. Today there were 172 people online and I was the only Pyromancer out of all of those people.

Why is this?

Is the class underpowered and is in need of a buff?

and/or is it just undesirable? and people are not interested in what the class has to offer?




- Also I looked in the Balance section of the forum, and noticed the last post about the Pyro was back in May (I think from memory) 2014.

So do you think this class is being ignored? or is it in the pipeline?

Also I know the are more pressing matters like balancing the overpowered classes such as Samurai, so if that is the reason there has been no balance talk has gone on in the forums (This is under balance -> casters -> Pyromancer) for nearly 3/4 a year, it would be good to know.




These are my main points I want to say about the class, I am going to tag the Balance team as I think this is worth a look.

Sorry if this makes no sense, I just want to shine some light on this underplayed class, and find out why it is so unpopular.

Also the same goes with berserker, but I feel that class just needs a general buff.

Pyromancer has a weird role and relies heavily on server lag to be minimal to produce its damage output. Not only this, but the class is useless in teamfights with a lot of single target abilities and being squishy, it has skillshots that are difficult to land and has a confusing playstyle. The class needs a rework, but I don't think the resources are here currently for such a thing.

Pyromancer focuses on only close range combat. It can duel against most of the melee classes pretty well, but just gets kited and destroyed by Casters/Healers. Very good dueling class, but falls off a lot in team fights.

It requires you to be able to land your skill shots, or else your effectiveness and damage will fall of by A LOT on combat.

It does not have mana issues, but can have stamina problems.

  • Increase GreatCombustion stun range up to 5 blocks from 4 blocks.
  • Increase ChaosOrb's velocity or range, or make it able to pass through entities
  • Rework the current doom wave to the old doom wave (Where it shoots a straight line of fireballs from around you).
  • Make Pyromancers be able to use Maim with Blaze Rods
With ChaosOrb, it's either you hit your target, miss your target, or run into your own chaos orb.
It is also pretty unreliable when it comes to leveling.
