Profession Idea: Hunter

I'm proposing a "hunter" profession.

The hunter will be awarded xp for PvE activities.
killing mobs (hostile/nonhostile) would award xp
selling mob drops (non-rare) will also grant xp

Abilities would include
increased resistance to mob damage (passive)
more damage delt to mobs (passive)
The ability to stun mobs
The ability to increase mob drops
The ability to either attract or dispel mobs (if possible)

This would definitely promote township by a hunter collecting and bringing in large amounts of food/pelts/other drops to the town's markets.


Something could also be created similar to this for PvP (particularly the name: Assassin)


What do you guys think?

There already is a farmer profession :p also Mason profession gets xp for placing blocks... Otherwise the basic idea is pretty cool. It could definitely use some improving on :p

ok, i changed the OP. I wasn't too familiar with what gets xp for what, and what some of the professions were. All I could remember was what the Engineer profession could do :p

I recommend checking out the HC wiki. There's a lot of great info that could be helpful as to what you dont know but want to find out.

I still think this class is overpowered in that it allows the hunter to have an advantage in all areas, drops, damage reduction, power ect. It would need more drawbacks to be an effective profession methinks

I've checked the wiki, i just didn't pay much attention to the other professions.

The buffs only apply to mobs, not other players. I'll come up with some drawbacks, such as being weaker to non-mob damage.
