Bug Paladins shield reflect working without shield in hand

I have been fighting pandaman7 and he is able to use shield reflect with iron door in and then switching to his sword, but the shield reflect still reflects damage. Is this a bug or meant to be? If it's meant to be I feel like that it is not logical. A paladin should have to keep their shield how to reflect damage, not able to hold their sword and swing at you while it's activated.

Basically what you do is switch to iron door, shield reflect, switch back to you're main weapon and you still block incoming attacks for the duration without shield in hand.

Unfortunately however, I haven't heard any word from anyone on whether or not this is indeed a bug, or intentional design.

Oh... so they use shield reflect and then swap...

I dont know of a sane-way around this..
