As many of you know there is now a version of Optifine out for 1.7.2 - Albeit not a complete or necessarily stable one, but it's optifine nonetheless.
Installing is exactly the same as before so many will already know how to do this, but for those who don't know or are struggling, here it is:
I suggest getting Optifine 1.7.2 A7 from here. (anything higher than A6 will not work with forge.)
You must also get Forge 1.7.2, version .889, which can be found here.
Then do this:
1. Run Minecraft 1.7.2 once (if you have run this version already, skip this step.)
2. Install Forge 1.7.2 (default location is already given, change if Minecraft is installed in a custom location).
3. Run the Forge profile from your Minecraft Launcher.
Close the client after it loads and shows Forge in the bottom left corner
4. Locate your .minecraft folder (easiest way to do this is to open the 'Resource packs' folder via the button in options in game!)
5. Open the Mods folder and drop in the Optifine jar file!
6. Ensure it is installed by running the Forge profile and checking the bottom left of your Minecraft client. It should look something like this:
That's it you're done!
Please Note: Optifine currently does NOT work with ANY Resource packs. (As far as i have found anyway.)
