Newbie's Problems

Hello there I'm a pretty new player even though I did play before the reset I didn't get very far. So I have a couple questions.
1. I'm lost on what class I should pick I don't like to just rush into a fight mindlessly. I can handle melee fighting but from a more strategic standpoint then a lot of minecrafts' classic pvp where you just run at each other and see who dies first. I was thinking a caster or maybe a rouge but if you have more suggestions please give them and why you think they would be a good class.
2. What are relics? what are they used for? cause currently they are just clogging my inventory and I haven't been able to find much info on them.
3. On the pve server can you raid chests?

Hey Cbop, welcome to Herocraft.

Can't help you on No. 1 - not my area but lots of other players have good advice on this.

2. Collect a set of relics, from I to V, and combine them on a crafting table to make a codex for a particular class, combat or profession. Don't click with the codex until you're ready to use it, lol! (I need clarification about whether this is right or left clicking.) Clicking with the codex changes your class to the codex's class for no fee. Otherwise, it costs 400 souls to change to another class. Relics I to III are relatively common. You can trade common relics for rarer relics with the NPCs at the Exchange. I understand you can only trade up to level IV at this stage.

3. Yes, on the PvE server you can raid chests. You cannot grief structures or farms (as in, if you harvest a farm you must leave it planted.)

Try Necro, the BecomeDeath is very handy and the DoT are pretty strategic...

I will second this notion, Necro is very easy to level due to a lot of ranged AoE skills, they have excellent mana management through dark ritual, and become death is great at avoiding pulling 30+ mobs
And in PvP they have high damage, great survivability, and almost no cast timers making them very strong in 1v1s
