Need help understanding Exp.

I should be pretty used to asking dim questions by now, but it’s still embarrassing…

Can someone help me understand Exp please?

While I gathered the following stats, I went from Rogue 18/30 Farmer 1/55 to Rogue same Farmer 9/55.

Start Total Exp. 6513/13 EXP. 0% 15/788
Killed a couple of slimes: Total Exp. 6711/14 EXP. 24% 203/788
Slime killed me: Total Exp. 6663/14 EXP. 18% 155/788
Harvested lots of cane: Total Exp. 6663/1619 EXP. 18% 155/788
Killed one pig: Total Exp. 6663/1619 EXP. 18% 156/788
Sheared some sheep: Total Exp. 6664/1750 EXP. 18% 156/788

So… What do all these Exp figures mean (Total Exp a/b and EXP. x/y), and how do they relate to the levelling curve in the Wiki:
http://www.herocraftonline.com/wiki/index.php/Leveling#Leveling_Curve

And… is there anywhere that lists which activities level you when you specialise, or do you just figure that out as you go?

As a Farmer, I’m getting Exp from harvesting wood, cane, pumpkins, long grass, leaf blocks … but not flowers. I’m not getting any from crafting anything I can find, yet the Farmer page says Farmer gains Exp. from Skills (what are these?), Logging and Crafting. Via Rogue I would be gaining Exp from Slaying, PvP and … Skills (again, what are these?).

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Here is leveling explained:

As you can see, it's quite simple.

Edit: On a helpful note, I don't think experience is rewarded for any skills, especially ones without reagents. The reasoning probably behind this is people would spam skills for exp.

Also if I'm not mistaken, Total Exp is the exp of all your classes, current or otherwise. So your spec, your prefession, your unspec, and any class you might have changed from. The EXP part is for your current class that you have selected

Right, now I understand;) . Erm, no I don't, not in the least! :p

It seemed my Total Exp was changing more as I did gathering activities, but EXP changed more with PvE. However the Total Exp did take a big hit when I was killed.

And why does the Wiki say Farmer (and many other classes) can use Skills to level when they can't, and makes no mention of Gathering activities, which seems to be the only thing that are levelling Farmer (in my limited experience).

(Btw I'm testing this on the DG map, if that makes any difference.)

You have two different sets of experience, crafter and combat.
When you harvest, mine, build.... Your xp bar for your crafter goes up.
When you kill mobs or players your xp bar for your combat goes up.

So basically you can level crafter to 55 and still be a level 1 combat if you never kill anything.
When you die you lose an amount of experience based on your level?(or total xp) from both your crafter xp and your combat xp.

@WitchOnaRampage Make any sense?

Edit: You can change your XP bar to reflect your crafter xp by typing /lvl toggle[DOUBLEPOST=1346541295,1346541029][/DOUBLEPOST]
I don't think experience is rewarded for any skills, especially ones without reagents.

Unfortunately it's not that simple and needs to be tested to determine what skill does and does not give combat xp. For instance as a Disciple I gain combat xp for casting Pray.
