Channel: Globally Muted
Reason for mute: No Idea/ Undermining authority?
Your story:

Tonight, i walked away from my computer to pour myself a drink, i come back to see the question "What is an alphanumeric character?" in tour chat, to which i incorrectly responded " An alpha numeric character is a number, IE 0-9." (Apparently it includes a-z as well). I was muted from tour chat for posting that. I asked Angyles why i was muted and she informed i had directly violated the rules stated by a mod/admin (I don't recall which). I asked politely to be un-muted, as i had been afk a couple min and felt i was only answering a legitimate question (I wouldn't consider that term common knowledge, sadly.) She informed me i would not be unbanned until tomorrow. Approximately 7 minutes later someone asked about the event in off topic chat, to which i replied no one should answer as they would be muted, per a mods instructions (Angyles was the one who informed me of this.). After announcing that i was muted globally. I have been nothing but kind and helpful in the short time i have played on this server and feel this action was totally overboard, especially since a 30 second convo via PM would have educated me, and caused me to stop discussing the event. I understand muting is typically undone after a time period (24 hours?) however the mute is not my concern. My issue is that the question i answered initially had nothing to with the event directly, and the comment i offered in OT chat was correct, per a mod. I did not mean to offend anyone, nor did i intend to undermine authority. I was simply trying to be helpful on both occasions. @ Angyles, with utmost sincerity, i apologize. Respectfully playing on your server - RAND0MNEWB

Your mute in Tour had to do with the discussion of the special key. I told you in OT I would remove the mute sometime to tomorrow to which you replied "Wtf that is fucking gay". Gabi told me to globally mute you at that point, and I messaged you via PM to say that was a good way to get muted. You ignored me and then continued to be dramatic with the comments of "Do not answer q's about the event you will be muted". After a few comments Gabi said to me on TS "Why is he not muted yet?"

Your original mute had NOTHING to do with an event, so why you even started in about event questions is beyond me. So again, I will remove the mutes sometime tomorrow.

If my original mute had nothing to do with the event (the mute in XTour) i respectfully ask it was regarding.

I told you it was dealing with the application discussion and the special key, as telling people what it is/how to get it defeats the purpose of it on the application. I explained this via PM. The issue is closed. Your global mute was for the comments about being muted after telling you to stop discussing, as well as your response to when you would be unmuted.

I see that now, i misread, and was far too fast to hit reply, that is my bad, as were the events earlier. Once again, i apologize with utmost sincerity. I did not mean to offend or disobey. I know mods have a hard job, and i know you were only doing your job. I take no offence, and hope you can see past my transgressions.
