Minecraft wont open

Anyone have any ideas to why everytime i go to minecraft.net and try to play onlin it just gives me a black screen? As for downloading it just says I cant connect to minecraft.net. Any ideas what to do?

Have you downloaded any mods recently? You could of not installed one correctly. Try deleting the meta-inf (don't remember the name but should be similar)

ya i downloaded to many items for a lan party over the weekend, but i got it working again i just deleted my .minecraft folder and now everything is all good
