I was talking with weewoo today in TS and we were discussing other games. One thing I personally think about minecraft is that it lacks monsters.. not, quantity of them floating around, just types. I think what would be sweet, if for there to be boss's in dungeons. Just think, your mining and you find a dungeon where a dragon, or serpent or something.. Something huge is just sleeping. You have the option to go fight it or keep mining and head around it. Maybe they could re-spawn every few hours or something. What do you all think? :p

I like this, like most MMORPGs, they have a lot of different creatures, and some big hard ones to kill, that usually have a slow respawn time. These creatures should be in pre determined dungeons (undisclosed) for us to find, and regioned. This way people like rangers cant make 1x1 holes to kill them. So you have to fight through the dungeon, and at the end is a big boss that should take a few people to kill, but drop decent rewards i.e. Rare blocks, pumpkins, slimeballs, etc and give a good amount of exp to make it worth while.

I would love this idea

Would also promote pvp, since people will probably kill others to be able to fight the boss when it respawns

I agree, having 3-5 Bosses around HC deep under ground would be very VERY cool. Same with having more variety of monsters running around the server. Like a type of dinosaur or two.. or Sharks in water.. or sand worms in deserts.. you know? Just some cool things like that would spice it up a ton. Just an idea :p

It's impossible (if not: it's ridiculously hard) to create new mobs through a plug in. Just sayin'.

It would be a lot easier to code different AI for an existing mob than creating a new one. IE silverfish spawn in desert biomes and act like worms (bob up and down).

It's just an idea D: something cool to think about :p

It's not a suggestion because I figured they have much to much on their plate already with all the updates not to mention coding is probably extremely limited :p

oh ok, my bad haha. This should be in vanilla Minecraft for sure. Especially with all of the enchantments and potions which make the game soo easy.

Well Kainzo can make bosses in the Mob Arena. That is if he wants to keep Mob Arena, I hope he does.

I was actually thinking about a previous game i use to play where while you were mining, sometimes you would disturb an old creature from his slumber, depending on what you were mining.

Digging stone - earth elemental
Iron - Iron elemental (stronger and harder to kill)
Gold - Gold elemental (Able to use magic spells)
Redstone - Redstone elemental (hurts you everytime you hit it, just like how redstone glows when you hit it)
Diamond - Diamond elemental (big mac daddy)

each respective elemental would drop some of the ore it carries when slain.

Megan, do you remember what game? It's sounds intense! And the idea would be great for HC or Minecraft in general. Maybe someday, when they come out with a HC Client. The elemental/ mineral drop idea is very cool IMO. I hope Santa gives Kainzo the power of the divine to create the ultimate HC experience!!!! :D

I would say bees. Chance when ur butting down trees to piss off a giant hornet that can fly and sting you. Also have like beehive nests where if you're detected, it sends a swarm of bees at you.

Goblins. Short ugly things that value money over even their own lives. Often attacks the player, steals an item slot from your inventory and runs off. Kill him to get the items back.

Bulls. They don't like you squeezing Bessy's udder for your cake and they tend to let you know. Had a charging ram ability.

Shadowwalker. Can only exist in darkness. Never seen. Only way to detect this mob is by the sound it makes. Often hides in caves or underground. When the player gets too far away from a source of light, these creatures may break far away sources of light. When the player is in pitch black, the shadowwalker does everything within its power to tear the player to shreds in the darkness.

Sharks/pirhannas. Aquatic hostile creatures. Pirhannas attack from shallower waters and have low hp. Sharks dwell in deeper water, but depending on how damaged you are depends on how far away they can detect you (smell blood in the water) - this should make poeple start using boats more

Fleece coat. Ever heard of the term "wolf in sheep's clothing"? Well this one takes it literally. Sometimes those sheep aren't what they seem to be. If you turn your back on these werewolves wearing sheepskins, they might take off the disguise and attack you. The only way to make sure the sheep is real is to shear it. If it was a werewolf in sheep's clothing and sheared, it will be stunned for a few seconds for you to attack it before it unleashes its rage.

Sand Lion. These creatures often dig craters in the sand with a hole at the bottom. When small critters like ants step onto those craters, these sand lions flick sand out in front and above the ants to let the falling sand they walk on pull them towards the hole to attack them. Was thinking this would be quite creepy if sand suddenly started flowing and drifting to a hole in minecraft where a giant sand lion pops out to eat you.

I can maybe think of more later.

Lolz; Who doesn't butt down trees? D: What else is worth butting? ;)

That Bee idea is pretty sick. I forgot to even think about bug type monsters when contemplating the idea of new threats.

Sharks are eventually a must. It's going to happen eventually, it's to awesome an idea not to. Everyone's been asking/ wanting them in both regular minecraft/ HC for ages.

I'd replace Sand Lion with Sand Worm though. Like a giant killer snaky-wormy thingy that come out and hits you as it skips across from under the sand to above, over and over.

Shadowwalker(s) are Endermen :D Well at least that what comes to mind for me however :p

Bull would be neat. Get double the amount of meat when killed or something. The offensive cow, lol.

Hmmm, I was thinking of like, a Golem type of creature. A big thick rocky human like figure that's slow, but has overly huge HP and decent attack. Perhaps you would find them on high hills/ mountains. Keep them a certain number of blocks high type of thing!
