These pre-releases make it feel like Minecraft is updating quickly. Novel concept.

Topic of the day being the 1.9 pre-release. I've wandered around the Nether and swamps and villages some... It feels very half-done (well duh), even in areas that they don't seem to intend to alter- mostly some goofiness involving the biomes and Nether ruins. What do you think of it so far?

The releasing updating is partially because if Mojang were to update minecraft into the Adventure Update with ALL of the features they wanted in one update, we'd have waited for a while. Also Minecraft is becoming official in less than 2 months! :D

1.9 looks interesting but it doesn't add much as far as game play goes atm :p
Its mostly just more aesthetics and some new items which as of yet have no use.

I am loving how they make new materials/blocks to build with. That is truly awesome, and is exactly what we need. I havent tried the pre-release of 1.9, but Im sure it will be good.

One thing I think is stupid though, is that Notch still is using the same stategy he's been using for a while, which is to rather release more new content than to fix bugs and generally get better and smoother running code. As we noticed in 1.8 everything is running a lot slower, and there are nearly no neutral mobs. My guess is that its just going to get worse in 1.9 unfortunately. :(

Neutral mobs are now finite, and no longer spawn. But breeding should be comming in one of the 1.9 pre releases's (or official). So dont kill off all the current neutral mobs yet.
