My question is do we really need a map wipe? Im not disagreeing that one day we should because it is always good to explore a new map. But in regards to people wanting it sooner rather than latter i think its silly. my reasons being

1)FFA will be released soon so that alone will be a mineral rich map with PvP of course. Which also can be re set on a regular bases, which not only does it give constant resources but different terrain which will keep people interested and entertained.

2)The current map can be quiet easily maintained and kept fresh either from the admin/mods or from a previous suggestion from myself "herocraft Angels"
http://herocraftonline.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=1783 Now ignore most of that but take in the possibility of having these select few going around keeping the map fresh, yes there is a lot of issues weather or not that person can be trusted ect, but eventually some trust has to be put somewhere because admins/mods have a lot to do as it is and it will only be a matter of time till they get fed up of constant terraforming this and terraforming that.

Anyway in short people have built great stuff and why destroy that if we don't necessary need to map wipe when we have things like FFA coming out.

Give me your feed back on why you think we should shouldn't have a map wipe and please take a second and vote. Thanks.

most of the issues that people spout in favor of a map wipe are pointless. The map will never run out, or even low of important resources. The map is massive, the people who say they walk for hours and cant find a spot of wilderness 100 blocks away from an existing structure are walking in cardinal directions. I spent 2 days walking aimlessly and exploring (and being killed by hunters), and it's impossible to say that this map is tapped. There are places with no structures for 500r blocks.

A map wipe is necessary eventually, if only to get a fresh start and rebalance the community, but I honestly don't see that as necessary yet. Maaaaybe with the release of Heroes, though. The economy now, compared to how the economy SHOULD be with heroes, is very unbalanced and corrupt. With the release of heroes, a map wipe will probably be a more realistic fix to all the problems that currently exist.

The people I know who are in favor of an immediate wipe, are mostly mayors who've created fancy pants towns and have nothing to do.

I agree with the above poster, I think we should wipe once we get all the features hammered out and Heroes installed. I'm not in favor of it right now because the map isn't QUITE tapped yet but I think its getting pretty close. The only real reason I'm against it is because I really like the way some of the towns have been built. I will say though that I don't like the mass terraforming manual labor that is going on, I like the whole natural feel of Minecraft. But I suppose that's what single player is for I'm just airing my opinion out lol.
Great idea for the angels though, I like the idea of returning the world to its original state when things around it have been abandoned. And that's coming from a heartless conservative!

lots of towns appear, and disappear, lot of constructions, even global constructions, aren't done yet, and there are tons of free space unused, stop following roads, the wilderness is huge!

and, even with Heroes on, we will have FFA for using all the potential of Heroes, and don't forget the Nether, it's not some long road that will change the fact that there is lot to do in hell, a tons of free space to use, we have an easy entrance now, you can go to the nether without fearing to lost everything and thanks to some players, we have wood, wheat, cactus, reeds, even cobblestone generated in Hell

there are tons of things to do in the current map, not even a lifetime can be enough to do them all, i vote no for a wipe, i want to stay on this one, the only wipe i can understand will be when minecraft will release, and it's about months from here
