Bug Lost items on boat transport

I was running from conquest and was in combat. Thought I might have been out of combat timer, so I jumped in the boat to central and insta died because of combat log. Didn't realise this happened but I respawned with nothing when I was back in Aegis spawn. I lost a Gladiator weapon, major pissed as it didn't even drop. I am wondering if I can get it back? I don't think this is a bug, but transporting through boats makes you lose all your inventory.
