Keybinding and Macros

So, I have been wondering what is considered a macro, and what is considered Keybinding.

I know we can use programs such a improved chat and spout to set our skills as buttons versus binding them. This is where my confusion tends to set in.

I set smite as a key on my keyboard, by doing this I have bound that command to a key, but I have also made a macro since that key running a script.

Am I over thinking this, or are we defining macro as a series of script?

The reason I ask is because I have mod that does the same thing as spout in regards to Keybinding, but lets me still use Rei's minimap ( I couldn't for the life of me get both to work together)

Alright, I'll have to figure out how to get Rei in spout then.
There is a minimap in Spout by default.

Macro mod = Illegal. Only legal keybinds mods = Spout and Improved chat. I am personally using Imp. chat + Optifine

It's banned because it's so good. :p You can set up timed and automatic macros, trigger mouse clicks, and a bunch of other stuff. Basically it falls under the unfair advantage part of the rules.
As a guideline, anything that offers functionality beyond the ability to bind your skills to keys is worth bringing up before you use it, except Spout.

@EtKEnn, where did you find ImpChat? I thought it was unavailable, but if it's out there I would utterly love it.

I think Impchat only just updated, I went looking for it before, but never saw it.
