Ah, I just looked over the other applications here (in retrospect, I should have read those before posting, by my enthusiasm got the better of me) and a common thread seems to be insufficient application length. Unfortunately, the server I played on crashed this summer with the most recent 1.8 update to Minecraft and so I can't get any screenshots (unless you'd like screenshots of my most recent creation, now that the server is back up and running, but there isn't much to see yet. I suppose it would only give you a sense of my architectural tastes). In any case, I'll file this under "Additional Info", as I can't figure out how to edit my above post.
Additional Info (revisited): I've been playing Minecraft since its earliest Alpha release days, back before there were cows or nice looking trees or infinite worlds or multiplayer, as I'm sure the majority of you have been.
I attend college at a military college in Vermont, and given that from about November to March the state is covered in a sheet of ice, I've got lots of time for goofy games like Minecraft. I've got some MMORPG gaming history under my belt, starting with Anarchy Online and ending most recently with Rift, but, strangely enough, Minecraft fills that MMORPG void better than any of the self-proclaimed MMO titles on the market.
I'm not super competitive, though I do love PvP- rather, I prefer to enjoy my time throughout a game and explore all the game has to offer. Typically, I like to push the boundaries of a given game, be it economically (as in sandboxes like Minecraft or EVE), statistically (if you've ever played Anarchy online, you'll understand what I mean by this), or otherwise.
I love building things. I'm not sure if I intend on creating a "Crafter" or not, but I enjoy the planning and execution involved in constructing something like a city or castle or keep. I like my works to looked polished and natural- I'm not a fan of big floating obsidian castles, but I do love making villages with walls and a guard tower and that sort of thing. Everything has to have a purpose behind it.
I'm not sure what else to say, but I hope this helps! Thanks for reading, and thanks for your consideration.
