How long have you been on Herocraft?: 2.5 years
Why do you think you would make a good event team member?: I have been involved with contests in the past. On Bastion I signed up to be a judge for the Herocraft Video Contest. I'm not going to lie, I was disappointed in the quality of the submissions, and my scores reflected that. I was fair but stern. I definitely strive for quality in the server over quantity.
On top of helping judge that contest, I ran a casino on Bastion which consisted of 'mini events' if you want to classify it that way. The Roulette game was one that I actually hosted and ran a few times a week. Games could last for a mere 5 minute lightning rounds, to a few hours long. Unfortunately I never actually profited from the casino, though it was never really intended to be profitable to begin with. I hoped that by creating it I would give some of those end game players something to do. The casino was going to be part of a mass network of mini games throughout spawn, but I was limited since I could not buy anymore plots.
Overall I would like to help create mini games for people to play throughout spawn. I have only previously been limited due to size and am now well versed in creating compact redstone contraptions.
Do you have experience with redstone, building, etc?: As a member of the Architect team, I have helped work on the Herocraft Hub, Bastion Spawn (Trade District), and Haven Spawn (Parts of the castle and Trade District). I also have
The Casino I ran on Bastion had two different games; Roulette and Slots. These were two very redstone heavy creations of mine that I had to adapt to fit in a 30x30 space. Roulette required a host to play since you were betting against the house (which was myself and I used my own coin to pay people). There was a lot of back end work outside of the casino that people did not see or use, which made me kind of upset since I spent easily around 20 hours of time creating this spreadsheet to help me speed up the game process and ensure accurate payments.
The second game, slots, was more difficult than it should have been due to server restrictions. The first design which I intended to open the casino with did not quite work as intended due to auto-stacking items. After a day or two I finally figured out a way around it, only to find out that hoppers were once again disabled. There went that idea. Eventually I created an automated slot machine using pistons. Prizes were all automated and I left it free to play since I could not take payment automatically because hoppers were disabled.
Besides the casino I have more than a few traps.
What would you say is your strongest skill?: The economy. The two maps I was most active for, Dragon Guard and Bastion, I was very active and influential over the economy. Even though I had fierce competition at times, I still found a way to gather supplies and get them to the consumer in a timely matter. There was a time when even Kainzo asked my input on the economy in an attempt to make some fair money sinks, though I don't think any of my ideas were ever put in play.
I cannot wait until I am finished building my town so I can once again start earning money.
Additional info you would like to tell us?: I think I covered everything I wanted to say in my novel up there.
