Ideas for Roadkill

Roadkill909 has recently inspired me to come up with more HC skill. He had a really good idea by putting the texture of a breaking block. Soooo, I have come up with few elemental idea for him.

Traps:
This could be like the arrow skill ATM, except with a warmup. You would use the skill (that would not be on the chat screen.), wait through the warmup, then shoot the arrow, to some where near you. The block that the arrow lands on will be where the trap Is laid. The trap will make a rumbling kind of texture, like the block is breaking.

Fire blade, duskblade poison blade and all of the things that do some form of elemental enchanting to the weapon:

Make the weapon flamy, use the fire texture ON the actual weapon. And so on for the other skill similar. Like the arrows like you did.

Tremor:
Make the area effected rumble with like the blocks are breaking.

Blaze:
Make the area effected POOF with the fire texture, like the arrows.

All I got for now, I'll post more ideas for you when I think of them! Thank you for making hero craft better!

I made traps a while a go, the implementation was a bit different. I'll put up a video of them soon. What I did was you would add an effect to an item you drop on the ground (it'd cost you that item), and it would trigger when someone picks them up. The items work well as bait. For example, while someone is raiding your town, drop a gold nugget or two and watch the raiders catch on fire when they pick them up.

Arrow traps might be too powerful because you could shoot them directly in front of your opponent in combat. They'd basically be another arrow mode, but the range that you can pick up items is a bit larger than a hit box and is hardly affected by lag or time, so arguably it would be a more powerful arrow mode.

If I remember right, some of the stranger textures like fire, enderportal, and dead shrub behave strangely with the block break effect. I'll have to experiment with the API, which is always fun. I can do the mobspawner flame texture though, which is what you see in the video.

It's not possible to put a fire texture on an item permanently (Wait until Spout server!). However it is possible to make a fire effect appear every few seconds near a player using fireblade or every time the pyromancer hits somebody. I just worry about performance usage.

Tremor:
Make the area effected rumble with like the blocks are breaking.

Tremor is doable, again I just worry about the performance use. It is feasible to show the block particle effect for a very limited number of nearby blocks, and could distribute the animation load up over several server ticks, but keep it near or under half a second to not look like a slow crappy effect.

OK, awesome.I knew that the arrow trap thing was OP, just couldnt figure out a different different way of setting a trap. I like the idea of item bait, ingenious!!!
