Bug IC 0272 capped at Radius 10?

Don't know if this is supposed to be like this, but I would like it increased. The playerdetector range seems to be capped at 10 blocks radius, which is quite small for the purpose I intend to use it for.

I know that STDs just made an array of them which was quite extensive, so you can always use multiples.

It may be to prevent a single one from being used as radar

Yeah, I noticed this last map.
I had a bridge that was supposed to extend when you walked up to it. Unfortunately the bridge was 14 blocks long so when you left the building it would open for you but before you get to the end of the bridge it would retract, dropping you to your death.

This radius maximum should be increased to at least 16 blocks(one chunk) if not more, in my opinion.

Yes I know this, but I do not want to make a lot of ICs (because of server lagg etc and it just isn't practical).
But yes, I would like max 50 blocks radius maybe? some checks require large area to do etc.

You couldn't have installed a pulse to hold the on signal for your bridge so that you had enough time to cross?

Edit: also @STDs4YouAnd4Me - this thread

Yeah, it's 10 blocks. At the early part of Bastion it was 50 blocks but it got cut down dramatically to reduce lag.

Oh sure, I could have done that, but it would have helped those on the other side of the bridge.
I'm talking a pulse that would be just long enough to do what a 15R player detection would have done, assuming you were running full speed on the bridge.

That would have worked fine for one side of the bridge but I would have had to build a second detector at the other side of the bridge and that would take another sign..and signs are not... cheap..

Are player detectors spherical detectors not cylindrical?

It would be 25x more blocks for 75 vs 5x 15
Right you are sir. I stand corrected as I did not account for the spherical nature of the ic. The 75r would scan 1,767,146 Blocks the 5 - 15 r would scan only 70,686
