Greetings to all new members!
By the end of this guide, you will learn to successfully start a life within one of herocraft's many worlds -whether you are whitelisted or greylisted.

To start, let's begin with how you start~
You will spawn in a tutorial world where you will have to follow the road and ignore the signs, if you are ever stuck, don't worry, as there will be many ways around an obstruction. If you can't find any - don't fret, as there will almost always be a guide in tour chat to help walk you through your problem.
Tutorial teaches you a few commands, such as :
/hero choose <path>

Paths and Classes~
There are 4 paths you can choose as a new player.
As a combat class, it gains EXP by : PVP , Mob hunting , Voting.
Healer - Heals friend and allies
Warrior - Tanks and takes the big hits
Rogue - Main DPS
Caster - Heavy damage and AoE's

Professions ~
When you join, it automatically makes you a crafter.
This is your main profession, then you branch off into one of its many specs.
As a utility class, it gains EXP by : Farming, Mining.
Some specs are...
Farmer : Farms wheat and can breed animals
Miner : mines ores, mines stone, mines everything.
Engineer : Master of redstone contraptions
Mason : Master of creating mechanisms (like gates and bridges)

...and many more!
/hero specs crafter
The above command allows you to view all of the crafter specs within Herocraft.
Each class has different armor and tool sets. To view these enter the commands...
/hero tools

/hero armor

Use this useful command...
/lvl

...to check your level.
Once you have picked those classes and proceeded through the tutorial, its onto the game!
The beginning...~
As you now leave tutorial, you will find yourself in another world called Bastion. This is the whitelisted player's world. As you are new, you have no idea where to go, however, that is okay - the people who came along with you probably don't either.
From here you will want to find the "Nexus". It can be located by walking along the WEST Road (use Rei's minimap) and there will be portals within them. Each portal costs 1 coin to use. Now, find the portal labelled "Greyson, Greylisted only!" and go into that portal - It teleports you to a world where you have permission to build. A popular rule to keep in mind here is the "No griefing rule" - If you grief within Greyson, the Moderators and Administrators will have zero tolerance, and will ban you - you will have been forewarned with signs within Tutorial and Greyson.
Take heed, as staff does not give teleports - Your crafter profession has an 8 hour cooldown teleport to spawn.
/skill warp

Use it wisely.
Starting Off~
Now that you are here, it's best to find a buddy, as Herocraft gets hardcore.
The first frequently asked question is - 'Why doesn't my health regenerate?'
-- Your health won't regenerate when at full hunger because we have different systems for healing and hunger...
That being said to regenerate your health Eat cooked food or vegetables. Each food piece heals a different percent of your health, with cooked steak healing 80% as the highest (8 hearts).
Then you will ask the question of how to use a skill - ' How do I use "x" skill?'
To use a skill enter into chat a simple command.
/skill <skillNameHere>

This will cast the specified skill , some skills require Stamina - our "Hunger" system in use... and some will use Mana. However, some skills need to be targeting a mob to be cast, and besides, typing that in every time you see a mob is a tad annoying correct?
Well, to solve that problem, there is another command you can use...

/bind <skill> <-- While holding an item of your choice

After doing that command, the item you have is now bound to that skill, and right clicking will activate the skill. To unbind a skill, its simply the opposite command --

/unbind <-- while holding the item you wish to unbind the skill from.

Money~
Well.. now what? You certainly want to go get some money don't you!
Well there are many ways to get money. Let's start with voting.
Hc.to/vote <--- this is a URL

Entering this URL will bring you to a website that has many links on it, and each link takes you to a vote site that allows you to vote for HeroCraft,
Each vote will provide you with 3.00 Coins and 75 EXP towards your combat class.
After voting, you may want to obtain more, so therefor, we recommend you start playing Minecraft normally - except, you will want to be keen on your eyes for Gold as it is very valuable in HeroCraft.
Gold ingots are worth 9.00 coins each when sold to the DHX [Disposable Heroes eXchange]located within the whitelisted spawn area of Bastion. To find the DHX, go up the stairs to the main castle, then find signs labeling "DHX", follow these signs up the stairs into the main tower and go 3/4ths of the way up, where there is a room. That room is the DHX.
Also a key thing to note, When gold ore is sold to a miner - it can be sold at a higher price, due to a miner's level 45 ability called SmeltGold, giving them a random chance to smelt another ingot.
With this, Gold Ore is worth about 10 coins to 10.5 coins.
Whitelisting~
Whitelisting is a painless process, you will simply go to this link [hc.to/apply OR hc.to/apps] and read the thread, THEN create a thread containing your applications.
And questions about the special key should be held off - as we will not be answering questions regarding what a users special key is.
ALSO , revealing someone's special key could mean a mute - or even a ban, depending on what Angyles or another Mod decides.
Just remember... Be honest, and put effort forth into your application!
They will be reviewed within 24 hours, and accepted or denied based on review.
Once whitelisted you can...
  • Join a town for safety.
  • Build/mine in Bastion
  • Permission to join other chats.
  • Permission to specialize in your class
  • ...and many more!
Mod pack~
Yes, we have a Mod pack for Herocraft.
It is both for Vanilla Minecraft, and the Tekkit launcher
Both have instructions on the page which is linked below
==============================================================================
Just a few Notes
~You cannot enter greyson AFTER being whitelisted, you have to leave.~You cannot specialize in greyson, You master a combat class at level 20 and crafter at 30, and your remain so until you become whitelisted and have permissions.~As a greylist, you have the ability to talk in a local and shout ./ch shout and ./ch l
~Choosing a spec is 250 coins, for both combat and profession~Respect staff, read our rules, and read the wiki!

Really should make sure your stuff is current as you are automatically defaulted to crafter. You do not have to choose it anymore.

Okay, Some people still needed the command earlier. I'll edit it, but most of my stuff is very current. Unless you find anything else :)

I feel like this should be bookmarked in a forum section for new players that most warrants it.

Otherwise, please mention that those paths can divide into 4 specs.
