High Ping

Now, I don't know much about computers, but I do know high ping bad, low ping good.
I have been unable to connect to Minecraft all night because I have over a 6000ms ping. I have never had this problem before, and I do not know what to do about it.
I have tried restarting everything, but no luck.

Any tips?

Well if you have over 6000ms it's going to be very difficult to use anything, are you capped or anything?

I can join other servers just fine. I am not downloading anything, if that's what you mean. All I have open is Minecraft and Chrome.

Ah well then it's obviously something with the server, which I can't help you with. Some admin will have to officially address the problem to us.
