So, you know of the main modpack thread? Well, all the testing occurs with a selective group of people. Right now though, even through my testing with others, the modpack crashes for a few people. SO, what am I to do? Invite those people to see if it breaks? Too annoying. I'll just open up the development version of the modpack for the community to try it out and see what's new and what's coming
For now, here's some info:
If this is your first time reading this post and you are indeed going to help test the DevPack, please, post your system specs as formatted below, this is to get a good feel for whether the issues are unique to a specific hardware setup or whether the modpack has a mod that is too laggy for clients.
The Format for System Specs:
Using my laptop as an example
Make: Apple Macbook Pro 2008 17"
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.25GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
RAM: 4GB 800MHz RAM
OS: Mac OS 10.8/Windows 8 64-bit
Java Version: Java 6u45/Java 7u21
To use the HeroModPack-DEV, go launch the Technic Launcher as you normally would (I'm not going to make the Manual Installer, Custom Jar stuff unless it's prepping for release, of which is a complete copy of the Technic launcher and should not have any difference) and add this link for the ModPack:
http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/heromodpack-dev
Requirements to bug report:
You MUST have already submitted your System Specs as identified above
You MUST be on the latest version of the ModPack
You MUST have no alterations to the ModPack (No external mods or anything like that)
You MAY reconfigure some things through the in-game options, all other options can be proposed (Such as default HeroMod settings so the mana bar isn't in the way of the Status/Durability HUD)
How To Submit a Bug Report:
What Version of the DevPack: 1.2.8.6 (Refer to the ChangeLog and approximately when you last updated)
What Happened: Minecraft Crashed (Blue screen with some log)
Minecraft Log: MAKE THIS SPOILERS! AND USE the code tags preferably, no extra formatting.
Can this be reproduced: Yes
What were the steps to reproduce: Log into Herocraft and BAM CRASH BURN DEATH EXPLOSIN! END OF DE WURLD!
Did a ModPack Reset fix the issue: No, the modpack is broken (gab will probably roll back the modpack and bump the version)
Did a clean install of the modpack work? : No. it's an inherent issue with the modpack not being able to launch.
