Greetings Heroes! (WIP - some things changing)


Legends Never Die!
I'd like to take sometime to alert you to the new release that is happening in less than two weeks. We have worked very hard for this release, all sides of the house have done very well ensuring we have a smooth release. Hundreds of hours have went into design, building, coding, testing and play testing to ensure this is something fun for everyone. We know there are still some bugs and are hoping for good and honest feedback so we can fix it up!

Events:
- Special staff run events will be available at least once a month, PVP tournaments, boss fights, drop parties and more!
- Please note that these are all staff driven and take time to setup but look for more information posted about them on Discord!

Character Advancement:
- Players now have a massive power curve and are able to increase their power tremedously every level. You will gain health, mana and per-level damage/healing every time you level up. Capping around 1500 health/mana without gear.
- Increased item slots for stats such as rings/amulets/gloves, etc. This will be dropping very soon after release and items will be crafted by your own professions to obtain!
- All classes now start with basic starter gear that is soulbound and cannot drop. Read below to how to upgrade these items to prolong their effectiveness!
- Each class has a preferred weapon and weapon specialization. They may do more damage and be better with that specific weapon!
- All classes can use all base gear/armor/tools. This is a hotfix and may change in the future, specific gear is restricted to certain classes.
- New skills are being given to better spread out the set of each class
- New classes will be unlocked every month and the first class will be Shaman!


Dungeon Challenges:
- Exploring the overworld you will find portals to difficult dungeons! Bring friends and gear up!
- World bosses are returning on the scene to terrorize heroes! These may be spawned by combining powerful items together to challenge new and old comers a like. - In a future release, these will spawn randomly in the overworld and entice players with very powerful drops to compete for them.
- A new special Level 60+ dungeon that will require a group to overcome will be released in a month's time. This will have the best drops in the game and the most challenging gameplay! This will have phasing PVP on / off so everyone can attempt the challenge in the way they like.


Townships:
- To upgrade a township, it now requires either Conquest point materials or Tradepack completion materials to upgrade past a certain tier. We found that this may be the best choice for enticing PVP gameplay or allowing players to attempt to bypass PVP by running tradepacks.
- Townships still receive +bonus exp benefits for each Outpost they control.

Special Crafting Stations:
- All players will have access to their Origin Gear workstation which will allow them to use Origin Apex to upgrade their starter gear to +10 increasing the potency by a great deal!
- Now certain professions have various NPCs around spawn that will assist them with their Profession workbench.
- These workbenches will allow the professions of a certain level to unlock their true potential and allow for creation of very powerful items!

New Base Items and Effects:
- Repair Orbs: Repair orbs will be used to repair gear that is damaged
- Identification Scrolls: Scrolls of identification will be used to identify gear that is dropped. Can be purchased from a vendor or created by a profession
- Magical Fragments: Skill Stones that cast powerful skills with limited uses will be available to craft
- Gemstone Removal Orb: Removal Orb for Gemstones from sockets
- Crusher Orbs: Crusher Orbs will allow heroes to deconstruct powerful items to reforge them later to re-roll modifiers on gear
- Soulbound: Some items may be bound to the player soul and not drop on death, this is very few and far between!
- Coffins: If your tombstone is far away, you may recover it by buying a coffin at the exchange and summoning it to you
- Enhanced Potions: Potions that give stronger effects!
- Enhanced Food: Food that gives stats and bonus effects
- Bonus Experience Potion (timed): Found in crates/store, gain more exp for yourself, feel free to trade to your friends too!


3D Weapon/Armor Textures:
- Special items will be using a texturepack to be reskinned and look amazing! Look forward to more being created as Herocraft progresses. Thanks to @Luzifer for the hardwork on the skins

Weapon Types & Swing Speed:
- As part of the overhaul to our systems, weapons now do different abilities based on the type.
- From wands and whips that have a range attack to greathammers that have explosive effects.
- Not minding the swing timer will decrease overall damage output by 50-75% depending on the item and speed.
- Herocraft weapon-types now have much more power. Minecraft swing speed has been activated to do full damage and trigger your on-attack trigger.

Gear Progression:
- Gear now has a lot of bearing on how well you will do in combat. Gear is much stronger than previous. Gear has several tiers and the higher the tier, the more chance of rolling better and more effects onto the item, from +health to projectile damage, the possibilities are near endless.
- Unique, hand created items are also available on the dungeon loot table, these are much more rare and have potent effects!
- Sockets now allow heroes to imbue their items with the effects they want for combat. This allows an extreme amount of customization to the gear choice for players. - Gems can be created or found from dungeon mobs/bosses.
- Several unique items have special skills that allow you to use a new ability! Example: Some shields allow you to CHARGE at your target every 15s
- Tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Artifact

Tradepacks:
- Tradepacks are no longer as restrictive via movement when being carried, watch out though, people will want to steal them from you!
- EXP and rewards are being adjusted to compensate.

STORE:
- Store changes have been afoot, you can no longer buy massive global exp boosts any longer.
- To access the server early and to show appreciation, buy something from the store!

Profession Rework:
With the massive changes coming in, we had a massive need to overhaul the professions, while this isn't a fully realized thing yet, we will be focusing on every single profession to overhaul in usage. Some may still feel stronger than others and there's a good balance we're going to find to make these fun and rewarding no matter what you choose. Vanilla crafted gear now has randomized stats on it. Use the manual creation to use (not the greenbook)

Smiths Rework:
  • Repair Orb I through VI from level 1 to 50 (every 10 levels)
    • Gear will have durability and the higher the gear the more durability.
  • Crushers (Deconstruct items) @ level 10
  • Access to Special Workbench Forge to upgrade and construct items
  • Throwable Coal, amuse your friends! @ Level 1
Alchemist Rework:
  • Health Potion I to Major Healing Potion X (50 health to 1000 health)
  • Mana Potion I to Major Mana Potion X (50 mana to 1000 mana)
  • Each recipe is gained at a different level and the material cost increases, these potions have a cooldown that can be adjusted/balanced.
  • Recipes with longer lasting custom MC potions (Slow fall, haste, attack buffs, etc)
  • Recipes that increase skill damage, casting damage and physical damage by a set % craft-permission: alchemist.recallpotion
Farmer/Cook Rework:
  • Glorious style food recipes given via permission at level 1 all the way to 60
  • Food gives various stats and long term effects. These differ from straight potions but some do very similar things. Food lasts much longer to buff something that you want.
  • Green Tea that replenishes Stamina (level 50)
Enchanter Rework:
  • Socketed Gem Creation. Gemstones have various stats on them that can be imbued into existing items. From 1 to 50 Enchanters are now able to create powerful gems to socket into gear.
  • Scroll of Identification (Level 1) (allows the identification of item drops that are unidentified)
  • Scroll of Madness (level 50) - places the held item back into the chaos to be re-rolled for stats (heavy cost)
  • -- Access to special arcane workbench to upgrade items

Runesmith Rework:
  • Crafted Magical Fragments that when touched can incite violence or serenity and then vanishes
  • -- Fireball
  • -- BouncyFireball
  • -- SkySmash
  • -- Earthquake
  • Gemstone Removal Orb recipe (Level 50)
Example of Crafting System
- Items drop between level 1 to level 60 (players cap at 50 right now)
- Items can have a rarity of COMMON to Legendary (very uncommon) Smiths can create deconstruct orbs (also purchased from Exchange for $$$)
- Deconstructing a rare item will give a rare essence. Dungeons will drop crafting materials for the level of dungeon you are in.
- Combine that material with the rare essence to forge a RARE item of that type / level Base crafting materials will be creatable by Professions with raw materials/souls.
- Any player can forge new gear with the essence and crafting material at the proper station at spawn (Crafting district)

Known issues:
- Balance issues with PVP and Dungeons, ongoing fix and feedback required.
