Section 1: How to get Whitelisted

Welcome to Herocraft! You will need to do be accepted into our whitelist, be advised that first impressions count on whether we will accept you.

First off a few tips on becoming whitelisted.

1. Don't contact a staff member about reviewing your application! Remember first impressions count, you do not want to be labeled as a pest before your application is reviewed.

2. Please DO NOT "bump" your application, we have a team of 20+ proctors and guides who dedicate some of their time on reviewing applications, we will get to yours eventually.

3. Read the rest of this guide. Being knowledgeable about the server will show you are truly interested.

4. Put effort into your application we do not want one word per section applications, supply at least 3-4 sentences per section, if you absolutely cannot do 3+ sentences on a section then you're application will be denied.

5. DO NOT copy another application, us as proctors know when someone is just a copy.

6. Lying about bans wont get you past our wall of proctors, we do thorough background checks on every person.

The Application

The Format:

In-game name:
Location & Age:
Previous Bans (Includes other servers):
Referral(s):
Reason you should be accepted:
How did you hear about Herocraft?:
Have you voted for Herocraft (No? Click here)?:
Additional Info:

In-game name: Your ingame name that way the proctors can whitelist your account and you can play.

Location & Age: Give us a general location of yourself, your country, your state (No need to be more specific than that). You must be 13+ years old, anyone under 13 cannot be whitelisted as you cannot legally accept our Terms of Service

Previous Bans (Includes other servers): Please supply all bans, we need to know whether you are a fit for the server, if you have multiple bans for griefing or hacking, you will probably not be accepted.

Referral(s): Tell us where you found out about herocraft, freind, minestatus, etc... (If a friend, supply IGN we like to know who is advertising our server, we appreciate it)

Reason you should be accepted: Tell us what you will bring to Herocraft, Why should we accept you? Are you a good builder? (supply screenshots), are you a good pvper? Just mention things that you are good at in minecraft.

How did you hear about Herocraft?: Like referral, except more in-depth.

Have you voted for Herocraft (No? Click here)?: A courtesy we appreciate, the more votes the more applications and then the more people.

Additional Info: Tell us a bit about yourself. Do you have a job? Going to college? What other games do you play? What type of person are you? Relaxed gamer? A helper, a builder? We like to get to know everyone we accept.

If your application was replied to with the following, then you are doing something wrong.

- Be 100% honest on your application: Do not lie to us about yourself, previous bans, your age, etc... If this section has been highlighted, or bolded it means it was involved in whether you are accepted or denied, the proctor or guide will supply information on how you were not honest, even though you should know how.

- Use the proper application format: Basically you didn't use the correct format, the format was listed above. Just copy and paste, then fill it in. Not using the application tells us you most likely did not read the rules.

- Include all of the information requested: You left blanks in the application, You cannot do this. Doing such will be an instant deny.

- Post some screenshots of your past creations: If you say you are the best builder on the face of Minecraft then supply screenshots of your amazing buildings, we like to see your ability to build.

- Lengthen your application: Supply atleast 3-4 sentences per section, give us the information required, elaborate on your reasons to be accepted. Tell us about yourself etc...

- Check your grammar/spelling: Basically your grammar was terrible. If you don't know basic GUM (Grammar Usage and Mechanics) then you most likely are not above 13 and cannot legally accept our ToS

- DO NOT just re-post your previous application: If you were denied, Please do not post the EXACT SAME APPLICATION, it will not be accepted. And your new applications will be denied.

- Make a great first impression: Herocraft is about first impressions, If you don't leave a good one. You will be watched...

- After you have improved your application, reply to it saying it's been updated: Do not post another thread with your application. Just edit your first application and reply to it saying it has been updated. It is simple.

Examples of Applications (Bad, Good, Great!)

The Complete Guide
Section 2 Part 1: Heroes
Herocraft can be an extremely confusing place for a new player. Especially one who is brand new to minecraft or has only played Singleplayer.
Heroes
Heroes is a Game Changing plugin developed by the Herocraft Developer Team.
Heroes can sometimes seem intimidating to a new member, but it is truthfully not intimidating at all. Once you become settled in Herocraft you most likely are going to level up your Path and Your Profession.
Basic Concept
Heroes is an RPG plugin, focusing players to level and earn skills they can use to survive in minecraft. Heroes has both Paths and Profession which are then split up into Specs (Specializations). The Basic idea of Heroes is to level and "Master" your spec but it was made for people to level by how they would normally play minecraft. (Not for Grinding like most people think).
Starting Out
Starting out in Heroes is the hardest part, however once you get a foothold in heroes, it will become easier and easier, but more tedious as the more you level the more experience it will take for each level.
To begin you must first think of what path you want to go.
Warrior(Tank): The Warrior is specialized in taking damage but not specialized in dealing the damage. This is not saying as a Warrior you cannot kill people or kill mobs. Many Warriors can kill people 10 times before they die once.
Rogue(DPS): Rogues are specialized in dealing damage but not specialized in taking it. Rogues die more than warriors but they deal more damage before they die than a warrior were to.
Caster(Spell DPS): Casters specialize in using damaging spells to deal damage from afar. Their main skill is fireball which deals 20 damage and deals 10 damage in fire-damage, they use their mana faster than other classes. They are incredibly squishy compared to other classes but are normally targeted first because they will deal the most damage.
Healer(Healing): Healers, as you can guess heal party members in exchange for mana. Their main healing skill is Bandage which costs 1 paper (which acts as a bandage). It heals for 14 health per use.

Once you have picked out your path. You must type /hero choose <path> then /hero confirm. It will then put you into that path which you have to level until you master.
Professions on the other hand, are a bit different. You start off being forced to a Crafter.
Crafter(Profession): Base Class for Professions everyone must go through Crafter before specing in your profession.
To choose your Profession you must type /hero profession <profession>, where <profession> is your profession you are picking, which in this case is Crafter.
Mastering
In order to advance in Heroes you have to level up your Path (and/or) your Profession. You level your Path (Is commonly called Combat Path). The Combat Path can only be leveled by PvP (Player versus Player) or PvE (Player versus Environment, AKA Mobs). A Profession can only be leveled by mining. Most people master this first as they give advantages to entire towns.

Before you Spec you have to level up your Path or Profession to level 30 which it will then globally display PLAYER has Mastered PATH! Once you Master a path or profession you will then have to choose your spec. Choosing your Spec will cost coin, which is our ingame money. To spec will cost 250c (c is for coins). To choose your spec is the exact same commands as choosing your path / profession, just with different names.
Specializations
In Heroes there are many different Specializations to pick from, there are 24 different specs to be exact. Four specs for every Path and eight for Professions. Specializing is one of the most important aspects of Heroes, as once you spec you are a force to be reckoned with. Each spec has their own unique skills coded by our talented developers.
Dreadknight (AXE) - Dreadknights use magic and axes to slaughter their enemy. They are referred to as "The Evil Breed", if you ever encounter a Dreadknight you better hope you have equipment as if they get off their Decay and they hit you with their axe. The battle is almost over already.
Paladin (Sword) - Paladins are Divine Knights, they use healing abilities to heal allies and themselves. To top that off they also hit hard with a sword. IF they hit you with their Soulfire, you are set on fire taking extra damage a Tick.
Dragoon (Spade) - Dragoons are Airborn Knights commonly known from Final Fantasy. They are master at maneuvering areas and can use their skill jump to catch up to you or cut you off. They use a Spade to deal their damage and they can easily retreat as easily as they reach you.
Samurai (Sword) - Samurai are Chosen Warriors that are masters with the sword. They can use Bleed to make you be damaged over time. They have the ability called Bladegrasp which has a 1.779% chance to block an incoming attack, which nullifies all damage from that hit.
Thief (Sword) - Thieves as you may interpret, can steal items from another player using their Pickpocket ability which randomly steals an item from the other player. They also have Blackjack which has a 10% chance to stun your target. Stuns are huge advantages in battles, one stun can turn the tables of a fight.
Bard (Sword) - Bards are Song Swords, Bards are the masters of song, giving their party buffs that can increase mana regen or even Speed increases. They have a minor heal making them invaluable in battle as they can still deal damage and heal party members.
Ninja (Sword) - Ninjas are the main Melee DPS class of the Rogues, they are the Masters of Death, they can use Smoke to completely disappear from battle making the enemy unable to hit the Ninja. Their main damage skill is Garrote which deals 10 damage but also silences the target for 4 seconds, making them unable to use any skills.
Ranger (AXE/BOW) - Rangers are assassins from afar, using their bows at full charge can take out a fully armored Paladin, they track their pray using Track giving approximate locations of the Tracked players at the time. They are also not completely useless in Melee as they are skilled with axes and they can summon a wolf to aid them in battle.
Geomancer (HOE) - Geomancers are Masters of the Elements, they control AoE Spells that can wipe out a group of mobs within moments. Using Icyaura they can deal a large aoe damage and combine with pulse which does even more damage for a combo that can kill any mob.

Wizard (HOE) - Wizards are Masters of the Arcane, they use their ability to port for profit, selling their groupteleports to spawn or any area. They also have powerful AoE skills, especially Mega Bolt, it strikes around the center of a target, dealing 20 damage a strike.
Beguiler (HOE) - Beguilers are the Crowd Control Kings, with their increased mana regen and their ability to cause someone to ride a pig, and Plague Bomb they are truthfully a force to be reckoned with.
Necromancer (HOE) - Necromancers are masters of life and death. They are the only class that is able to teleport people into the nether using Hellgate, they have many DOT(Damage over Time) spells. They also summon skeletons to do their bidding, the skeletons attack everyone not in the Necromancer's party.
Disciple (FIST) - Disciples are Masters of Martial Arts, they have two main skills: Forcepull and Forcepush. Forcepull pulls the target close to you, and Forcepush sends the target flying, it is useful when you are near the edge of a mountain.
Bloodmage (HOE) - Bloodmages are well known for their siphoning spells and their ability to turn their own life into mana. They have the ability to bond their soul with another player and they split the damage the Bloodmage takes.
Druid (HOE) - Druid's are the masters of Healing over Times skills. Their first healing skill they receive is Rejuvenate which heals 1 hp per second for 21 seconds. But they do have a few insta-heals such as Pray which instantly heals 20 hp.
Cleric (HOE) - Clerics are battle healers. They use instant-heal spells and buffs to help their party's chances of winning. Especially with Groupheal which heals all nearby party members for 20hp. They also have invuln and Guardian Angel which makes party members invulnerable (Guardian Angel is for all party members, invuln is for one).

The Complete Guide
Section 2 Part 2: Herocraft Mechanics

Heroes is not the only plugin Herocraft uses. We use many plugins that help make the gameplay better and cut down on cheating / hacking.
Economy
If you are not familiar with Economy Plugins, it is a currency system in minecraft that players can use to spend in-game money on items instead of trading items for items. If you are familiar with an Economy Plugin from other servers ours differs slightly, but only in the economy. Herocraft's currency is c or more formally called "coins".
DHX
Herocraft's economy is not the same as most servers' economies. Herocraft features DHX which stands for Disposable Heroes Exchange. DHX is a bank that will buy gold from any town mayor, sic or banker for 9c (coins), it brings a use to gold and helps stimulate the economy.
Unique Respawning
Herocraft has a very unique feature: Graveyards. Most servers and in vanilla minecraft, allow you to re-spawn at a bed instead of spawn or anywhere else. In Herocraft we've removed bed spawning and replaced it with something more ''Hardcore". There are 16 Graveyards on the map, 4 per quadrant. These Graveyards are where the player is to spawn instead of a bed, however, instead of spawning at a random graveyard you are to spawn at the closest graveyard to you. This eliminates Bedcamping and somewhat cuts down on town camping, making Herocraft more enjoyable and also unique.
Changeable Titles
On Herocraft we have a plugin that allows the player to choose their Prefix and Suffix and if they are a Donor; their color. It helps cut down on work for staff who would have to change these manually.
Petition
Petition is a plugin that allows players to communicate their problems with staff quickly and somewhat privately as only staff with the rank of Guide+ may view petitions. Players are to use petitions in order to state a problems such as Griefing or even to ask a question if no one is answering in any chat.
Manageable Chats
Here on Herocraft we use a chat plugin that helps players managing their chats, create channels, change channel colors, channel passwords etc...
Stamina System
Stamina is the power used for skills by melee classes. Your stamina is shown through your food bar. Your skills will consume stamina as you use them. It will regenerate fairly fast to allow you a better fight. In some classes you will find a stamina skill that uses both stamina and mana, this is because that skill is a mix of melee combat and magic. Your food bar will never get completly full as the maximal Stamina is 19 and thus allows you to always heal be eating food.

Section 3: The Staff
On Herocraft we have a large group of people who donate their time to Herocraft to make it as enjoyable as possible, they catch hackers, oversee large battles, catch potential exploiters, whitelist, and help people out. We call these people Staff.
The Ranks:
Founder
Admin
Moderator
Guide
Proctor
Their Jobs:
Founder:
Founders are the people who founded the server. The founders are Kainzo, Apherdite, SeytonDiablo, and Seratt.
Admin:
Admins are the staff who are no longer considered players, they are allowed to fly, x-ray, etc... as long as they don't abuse their powers. They do the stuff that Moderators cannot do, they can spawn items, they run the events, some Admins handle promotions, such as proctor and guide promotions.
Moderator:
Moderators are staff that, unlike Admins, are still considered players. They cannot fly, or use x-ray. They can teleport to petitions, check griefing, they have god mode and can go invisible to make sure players are playing by the rules.
Guides:
Guide is the rank of staff that is solely there to help players. Their responsibility is to guide new players so they understand what they are doing. They have the powers to see, assign, and close petitions if necessary.
Proctors:
Proctor is one of the most important staff ranks. They handle the whitelisting. Plain and simple. Their job is to check the applications and review them, they will either accept or deny the player.
