In order to preserve the natural layout of the land, steps must be taken to restore environments destroyed by careless individuals. This thread will list problems and solutions, as well as the names of supporters who take part in the efforts to clean up the wilderness.
The HNPC is a non-profit organization of all willing players, whether good or evil, whether loners or townsfolk. The only way to keep our world beautiful is to actively maintain it, and avoid destructive practices that harm it.
First, here are some common practices that leave the world unsightly and scarred:

This little topic has been made in response to all the little things that add up when I go exploring. I see trees half harvested with crafting benches next to them, beaches by ponds completely harvested leaving massive holes(This is MC 1.0 guys, deserts are MASSIVE), and cobble going up hillsides. Personally, I'm going to be building bridges over the insanely rough terrain in the +,+ quadrant. What are YOU going to do to help preserve our wilderness?

BAD

- Harvesting beaches for sand
- Leaving leaf canopies after chopping wood
- Leaving crafting benches and furnaces on the surface
- Only partially cutting oak trees
- Placing blocks to climb (particularly cobble)
- Digging out entire chunks
- Digging 1x1 holes straight down from the surface
- Leaving pillars where you needed to climb
- Damaging water by terraforming
- Terraforming dirt or desert down to stone level
- Leaving unsightly, temporary shelters
Here are some suggestions to help alleviate and restore the natural order:

GOOD
+++++++++++++++
- Destroy stray crafting benches/furnaces
- Repair damage to ponds to restore flat surfaces
- Report 1x1 holes/pillars and beach harvested areas for rollbacks
- Terraform only the top layers of dirt or sand, leaving the bottom layer to cover the stone
- Terraform sand only from deserts
- Wait till all leaves decay before moving on
- Plant and spread forests
- Destroy stray cobble and other non-natural blocks
- Claim abandoned/ransacked homes and remove them (see Claiming a Structure)
- Build alternative paths for rough terrain (Bridges, stairs, etc)
- Spread tall grass with excess bone meal
