Herocraft 1 Year Anniversary = 10/1/2011

I've been stewing over how to celebrate this. We've been up for an entire year now. A lot of stuff has happened and we've seen over 5 maps so far. What are your guys thoughts on the 1 year celebration?

Free cake?

Running off of your comment in the "Heroes and You" thread: A special map with vanilla 1.9 and Runecraft; a homage to that first attempt at plugins. Is there a way to make dropping tools reset their damage and only have chickens spawn but have them sound like sheep? Then it would REALLY be like the first map, haha.

Based off the MC.net forum thread, October 1st is going to be my 1-year anniversary for the server as well

I made an account on the forum for the sole purpose of applying to the server, heh (I think the same day I bought Minecraft, too).

1 year =O damn. I have only been here for 10 months, I missed the first two, but that is still a long ass time.

Not creative enough to think of something to do, but we do need something lol. I like the ideas that include the old members (even if december doesn't count, there are plenty of members older than that like alator left I think) but am not sure. It should be a server wide celebration as well.

Do you happen to have any of the old map files? You could try to put up a multiverse of one of the first maps maybe? I remember at one point we were on the first map but the world was corrupted to hell with entire chunks missing, but it still had a lot.

You could always put on the 2nd and 1st map into multiverse, i miss darkforge, and i've always wanted to see the 1st map.

Old maps for sure. It would be fun to bring Herocraft's current gameplay to an older era, and compare stuff and whatnot.

Wait, 5 maps?! Kain, one thing you should do is put them up for download AND in the multiverse.
I think it would be cool to see HC's very first world.

With everyone saying, "Put up the first 2 maps!!" I have something more constructive for that, put up the 2 maps in CREATIVE mode but no one has build permissions :O so all it is is just 2 museum maps.

But this is now my 10th month on Herocraft and I still remember the spawn tower and those "plots" that were eventually going to be given out

Ah, I miss the fun days of Nova. It was only the last map, but that was my first multiplayer experience not with friends that I knew. I still had trouble remembering how to craft ladders and fences and such then.

Then it sort of died and eventually MoB turned it into a fortress.

Im amazed that Herocraft hasent been on more than a year, seemed pretty established when I joined and Ive been here for about 10 months I think. (Joined in the middle of the 2nd map.) I love the idea of making the older maps available. That would truly have made Herocraft into a multiverse.

Me and AfroDave also discussed some possible events, like sieges, plague etc. Would be cool with an event like that.
