Restarted MC √Hm. I'm having a completely different issue right now when trying to log into the server (bad logins, yey) but this is different. I know this will sound like a generic checklist, but it could be your java version, firewall, etc...
If closing the client and restarting it doesn't work, and your java's up to date, maybe try resetting your router or modem (to rule out those quirky connectivity issues) and maybe rebooting your computer. None of this is very technical by any means, but it often gets the job done for me. It shouldn't have anything to do with your sheep
Something more technical you could try is allocating more memory (or less, in some cases) to minecraft, but I wouldn't mess with that until you've tried other things.
I just went to watch a few movies, and when I came back I tried the other I.P's. It was something to do with i.p connection resetting, tried eu.hc.to, that didn't work, then tried mc.herocraftonline.com and that works nowServer is responding and alive just fine. I am getting a "login error" whenever I try - which means Minecraft.net is shitting itself.
