Hardcore gone...Softcore?

This server has had it's ups and downs. Changing of PvP, class updates and improvement of the server. However, recently some new rules have been added that have completely turned this server into a Softcore server rather than a Hardcore server.

We aren't allowed to steal from towns we are apart of? HA! This is the definition of hardcore, cutthroat, and menacing. This is not the only thing that has turned this server into a softy but it is a main reason.

I remember the days when regions were non existent and PvP was rampant among everyone. I believe this should be re-implemented. However, regions should still be allowed on Town Halls in towns. Things should go back to, Breaking a block to enter and placing back = Legal. I also believe in no stealing from Town Halls.

All in all, this server is getting ridiculous. It is favoring the complainers who can't defend themselves against PvPers. It is their fault they cant build up a simple skill of clicking a button and moving a mouse and choosing a PvP spec, rather than choosing a Smith.

Most will disagree because they want a nice pleasant server where no one kills nor steals. Admins and Mods are running rampant on banning sprees and I wont be surprised if I'm banned for this. Some say Evil players mesh just fine but the community themselves stereotype them as "Douchebags" or "Assholes" when in reality we are just defending our selves from Verbal Harassers.

So please Kainzo and Apherdite, BRING THE HARDCORE BACK!

I do agree, it feels as if when someone complains a ton they usually get there way, either its because a admin/moderator do not want to listen to it or because they feel bad for the whiner.

Being a douchebag and being hardcore are entirely different. The things you like are things that are not fundamental parts of the server and things I do not like seeing around. You can steal from other people, but stealing from your own town entirely ruins the point of townships. We don't want everyone to be run by suspicion and paranoia - we want people to play with cool people and have a good time. NOTE: I did NOT say it is illegal to steal from your own town - but it is NOT hardcore, it just makes you a douchebag... and I don't like douchebags.

And you can still PvP everywhere... so that is a mute point. And the way we handle bans is absolutely fair - if you have a problem, dont' create a flame thread. We always provide SUBSTANTIAL evidence against the accused, and if there is ever discrepancies or insufficient evidence, we discuss it and usually end up unbanning them. So that is an opinion (that I believe is incorrect and unjustified).

Haha? I didn't mention one thing about Not Banning Hackers or Not Banning people who don't follow rules. I was simply saying that this server has gone soft. It is getting pretty bad. Stealing is 100% real in life and so it should be in towns. It is a legit occurrence and gives towns lessons on how to improves security and how to weed out the theives, it also gives players reputations on the server to help spot them easily. You say this server is hardcore but it isn't. I'm not insulting your running of HC but simply giving advice on how to balance it out for certain players.

As I said, your limited view of hardcore is what is flawed. Hardcore is not just about player vs player - it has several different aspects. If you cannot see that, then that is your own short comings.

There is no set definition of "Hardcore Minecraft Server" in the dictionary. It is based on someone's perspective. So both of our perspectives are legitimate. By you saying I'm going softcore because of my perspective is just ignorant.

This is the definition of hardcore, cutthroat, and menacing. This is not the only thing that has turned this server into a softy but it is a main reason.

There's nothing against the rules saying you can't steal from your own town. I just posted this buddy.

They were just saying its bannable. I know two people who were banned for it within 2 days.

Yes many towns run on the principle that you aren't allowed to steal from town members, but that doesn't mean its a rule in-game. If you wanna steal from your own townies (no idea why you would wanna do this) then join a town that allows/promotes stealing from town members.... Oh wait, nobody is douchebaggy enough to make a town for that, and anyway, nobody would join.

EDIT: Shorty, I think you probably misunderstood what was said. Perhaps it meant that said thief was banned from the town. Or if he/she was banned from the server, then there must have been a legitimate reason for the ban.

Didn't Serrat just say stealing is legal in towns? Also in my opinion, the server is fine and hardcore enough. All we need are some better pvp mechanics and better economy.

As much as this thread is thinly-veiled whining on shortyy's part, I will attest that there is confusion surrounding certain rules- regarding harassment, thievery/griefing, and the specifics of the punishment system. And multiple people seem to think that the staff isn't homogenizing their rules among themselves. If this is the case, the community can't remedy the situation.

We'll be working out a few clarifications for the theft to make it more easily readable and understandable since this is a communication issue.

Also, mayors look forward to cheaper LWC's and more LWC' limits. (we'll be raising them)

DIRT over chest is not an LWC and is VOLATILE / AT RISK.
