Griefing Question

It is my understanding that if someone harvests your crops they must replant or its considered griefing. Why is not the same with livestock ? In fact livestock is much harder to come across than food. Raiders must replant your garden but can slaughter your livestock with no problems. I am just wondering what the rational for this is ?

You get the item back from anything you harvested crop wise to replant. I can't bring a cow back to life with its leather.

Correct but if you broke a glass block on my farm and didn't replace it I can pe you for griefing. Just not sure why livestock is treated differently.

Killing isn't griefing. Livestock can be /butcher in any time. Just secure your livestock.

Also I'm not sure there is any way to track who it was that killed your animals...

I think one reason that killing livestock isn't considered griefing is because you CAN'T replace them unless you're a farmer, and it would still take a while.

Pretty much this. While griefing can be seen as generally ruining gameplay for others, killing livestock isn't.
Here is what the wiki says about this -

Griefing
(Griefing Rules do not apply in warshard) Griefing may be defined as:
  • Breaking into any regioned areas otherwise impossible to enter.
  • Destroying blocks in another player's structure.
    • Destroying blocks above chests in un-regioned areas is acceptable.
    • Destroying blocks in pursuit of another player is acceptable if the exact blocks are replaced.
    • Plants must be left in a position where they will regrow to their original state.
  • Mindlessly destroying the landscape.
  • Placing blocks in or around a structure which you do not own.
  • Leaving abusive messages in any form.
  • Teleporting group members to your person and engaging in hostile actions against said group members.

However, I am uncertain about how updated this is... I'm assuming the same rules apply. WitchOnaRampage ?

Wiki rules are up to date in-fact thinking about it they're more up to date than the forums are so I'm going to go fix that now. Also Witch doesn't edit the rules page that is for high ranking staff only.
