So I am a level 17 warrior. I have my good items hidden as I live outside a city. So a long comes some guy who is a max level wizard. Although it is possible for me to win, I was outmatched due to surprise and his skill set being superior to mine. I run back, he is actively breaking my house looking for stuff. I try to best him again but to no avail, I die.

So I run back AGAIN. and see he continues to break stuff and loot my chests. I am helpless as I sit idly by as he takes and destroys my property... but as long as he puts all the blocks back where he found it. Its aaaaa okay...

I thought if you were being a thief you had to do it without being caught...

Regardless of the rules, griefed is exactly how I felt, I am left to watch as a high level picks on us up and comings. I can "kinda" understand it being "legal" to steal when no one sees. But catching someone in the act of stealing AND breaking structures, I feel, is kinda absurd to consider ok. Its like if a burglar entered my home irl, and the cops say "oops sorry, its ok as long as he re-locks the door on his way out"

Afterward, my friend who is same level, finishes him off while he is looting. An admin said they saw the whole thing. And I say, "well he broke the blocks and didn't replace em and is gone" But apparently it doesn't count because he died... So there's a loophole for ya. So I grabbed what i could carry, and logged off.

I don't know if anyone who reads this will agree. As they will say "live in a city" or something. But not everyone wants that. And it should be called "leave structures as you found em rule instead of no griefing.

Anyways... that's how I feel. Critique as you wish. Aside from this part of this server, I love almost everything else!... And I didn't have enough to lock my chests. I started like a week or so ago. Which now means I will have to move my house because this person will no doubt keep trying at my stuff... Hell, right now he could be making multiple trips to clean me out just to spite me.

It's been like this for a long time. If you don't want to live with others your only option is to donate.
T3+ donor perks give you protected regions.

Though I would strongly recommend joining a town.

Even though he died he should still have to replace the blocks should he not Danda killed or not he has still griefed and this could be considered as the same argument if someone pillars into a town but they die then they should not have to remove the pillar? I have probably misunderstood what was said but yeah ^^

Yes, that's exactly right Bingy, He broke stuff, and died. So he should have to replace every block the way it was. Otherwise I will report him through legitimate means.

Bingy is correct.
If someone breaks blocks of any man made structure they must replace everything as it was, even if they die. However, if you, as the person who owns the structure (or anyone helping you) continues to attack the person and prevent them from replacing the blocks, they are no longer required to do so.

Also, we understand things are a bit hard for new players, but as stated there are options for you. Donating for a personal region, perhaps, isn't something everyone can do, but you can join a town until you have the money for LWCs. You are not required to stay in a town, so join for the protection until you are able to strike it out on your own!

Basically it doesn't matter if they were killed when they were raiding they would still need to fix it. But if they come back and you don't give them a chance to fix it and attack on sight preventing them from fixing it then nothing will be done.

Assuming it's minor griefing.

Yep, me and my friend got our good stuff and my friend went out the door, while I logged off. And my friend said he was taking his sweet time taking coal. He even had enough time to check our other house before leaving... probably was the first guy who stole my coal... why coal? >.> Anyway, so that's my story im sure some of you have heard before. My friend and I are debating a town to try and host us... Thanks to everyone for reading and sharing your opinion.
