"Gift" Skill bug?

I think the lvl 50 Merchant skill "Gift" may be bugged to have a short range.

I tried testing it with my mayor, xexorian. I attempted to gift him once while I was in spawn and he was in nevermore (~1400 blocks away) and again when he was ~100 blocks away.

In both cases I received the error message "target is too far away."

I later gifted to him from two blocks away and it went through fine.

I used the format /skill gift xexorian as with other targeted spells.

EDIT: I just tested it further with TicklestheMighty. The target has to be within 20 blocks and within line of sight.

Yeah the skill is redundant atm, I always thought it wouldn't have range so for example I'm wandering around starving to death, or I'm mining and I run out of torches, so I /tell a Merchant to send me some for some insane price.

Please let me gift people from more than across the room.

That's a major reason I went merchant, sure you can sell stuff from stationary shops, but I want to be able to sell some glowstone to someone on the other side of the map!
