Dominions?

I've been looking for towns to join and in some of them I've seen that they are part of the "Xandria Dominion." What is this? Are there other dominions or similar things?

There are a few cities in groups that plan to become kingdoms. Another is LO (Legion of Oblivion), RoV, KoM (Kingdom of Malkier, they plan to get two more towns and build a kingdom)

It is simply the name that group of towns decided to associate themselves with. They are all in it together. They aren't the only ones either.
