Bug Disappearing Items

About 5 hours ago I bought a staff of overseer with sharpness 3 in central from Jreems, we made the trade and i went back to pvp. After i got into pvp i noticed my hoe isnt on me and went to see if it is only in central, it was not. My inventory seemed to appear something that i had 5 minutes ago. I got into teamspeak with hilltim and told him the incident he said the admins are turning back the logs or something and to check to see if my friend had it back in his chest. He didnt.
